Pfaff Hobby 4260

I didn't think any of the Pfaff Hobby line have IDT. The Select 3.0 is on promo for $599 on the Pfaff website, so I'd think the dealers have to honor that. My dealer doesn't sell the Select 4, saying that for what it costs, an Expression 2.0 is better. The 2.0 is on promo for $999 per the website. While it’s important that a beginning sewing machine be simple enough to learn on, sewists who enjoy sewing, quickly outgrow a very basic machine.

The Pfaff Hobby 1142, a bit higher in cost than some of the more basic sewing machines, is worth the extra investment if you think you might just get excited about sewing!

Pfaff Hobby 1142 Sewing Machine

The Pfaff 1142 is built on the same body as the entry level Pfaff 1122, but it is just a little more advanced.

The 1142 has a one-step buttonhole (great if you plan on doing buttonholes), 23 stitches (up to 5mm width), a pressure foot adjustment (to insure even feeding) and an integrated needle threader. This makes the model 1142 very easy to thread, a real plus for serious sewers!

Pfaff Hobby 4260

The only negative is that this sewing machine will go FAST! Beginners will have to control their own speed, and, at least in the very beginning, they should take it easy and go slowly.

The Hobby series includes the more basic models, Pfaff 1122 and Pfaff 1132.

All of the machines in this group offer oil free maintenance—a nice feature! No more oil stained fabrics or worrying that you oiled every single little oil hole!
